This is Lowenfall
Some call it the Golden Hour. I call it Lowenfall — the light fall at the end of the day. A time of day where there is a special energy.

This photograph was taken on 6 January 2024 at Polkerris, near St Austell. I had been given a small gas-fired water heater for Christmas and wanted to try it out. The kids really didn't want to go out that day. I convinced them — it was a delightful winter's day — and boy, did it not disappoint.
The kids were adorable together. I sat on some rocks making hot chocolate whilst they played around, and we took some of the most delightful photographs of Lowenfall. Here the sun hits the faraway cliffs at the other end of St Austell Bay, but the sensation still has great effect. What delightful colours — pastel shades, soft and unhurried.
It really is a special time of day for us as a family. Some of our best memories have been made at the falling of the light. No doubt I will share more of these moments with you in future entries.
This photo sums up so much about everything Lowenfall stands for.
