The Faroe Islands

Lowenfall is heavily influenced by Scandinavia and you will see this playing out in the clothing and accessories we bring to the online shop.

I went on an adventurous solo trip to the Faroe Islands in the Autumn and I was blown away by the rugged beauty, but also the peace and the calmness.

The light fall in the first photo is from a place called Kirkjubøur — there is a little village there with a beautiful white church and the ruins of a cathedral. It just had this magical quality to it, which resonated with me. It is funny how some places do this to us.

The landscape shifts constantly — one moment you are standing beneath cliffs disappearing into cloud, the next you are looking out across still water with the mountains silhouetted against a pale sky. There is a rawness to it that I found deeply calming.

I do not imagine it will be long before I am back there.
